- Got a copy of the original birth record from the Fort Kent town hall book for Births, Marriages, Deaths for 1923-24, page 127, 2nd down on left, for Marie Stella, born Mar. 25, 1923, 8th child, to Emery Lamarre & Modeste Levesque, reported by Mrs. Michel Levesque.
Also got a copy of the 'Delayed Birth Registration' from Maine Vital Records in Augusta, ME that shows Marie Estelle was born on Mar. 25, 1923 in Fort Kent, ME to Henry Lozier & Modeste Levesque, filed formally on 11/2/1983 by a special request from Marie Estelle Lozier Matyoka per her marriage license of 10/3/1942; also a personal affidavit signed by Rocky J. Lozier, her brother; also shows a baptismal of 4/1/1923 by Rev. A. Gigiere.
Note: Henry & Modeste left Fort Kent about 1924 & moved to Berlin, NH & then to CT; Jean Laferriere told me that Estelle did not go with the Loziers when they left Ft. Kent in the 1920's, she stayed with the Dube family in Ft. Kent until they died in the early 1930's & then her mother, Maude went to Ft. Kent & brought her back to CT. Estelle's daughter, Elaine, confirmed this information.

- I found her on the 1930 Census under Stella Levesque living with the Duby family in Fort Kent, ME as a boarder, 7 yrs. old; the Dube's daughter, Philomene, was married to Estelle's mother, Maude's, brother Mack Levesque; the Dube's household included John Dube Sr., 68, Elise his wife, 65, Willie their son, 41, & Leda, Willie's wife, 22; another boarder, 4 yrs. old Lafrance Larpance? lived there also. Leda Dube married Zoel Lizotte after Willie died & they moved to Bristol, CT & were lifelong friends with Estelle.

- Estelle married Charles Matyoka in Bristol CT on Oct. 3, 1942.
Her son Frank told me when she died that her father was not Henry Lozier & sent me a picture of his real grandfather, Emery Lamarre. This was the first I had heard anything about this fact.
I remember my Aunt Estelle very well, she was the sweetest of them all; we went to their big old house in Bristol, CT & I remember the woods & the old cars (I mean really old cars) in the yard that my Uncle Charlie 'collected'? They also had a big piano in their parlor & I remember bringing my children to visit her when they were about 5 & 7 & them playing the piano.
When we started having the Lozier Reunions in the early 1990's I got to see my Aunt Estelle every year until she died. It was wonderful. I stopped to see her daughter, Elaine, in York, ME this summer (2007) & she let me scan a bunch of old pictures that were wonderful. Her husband Clint scanned more after I left & sent them to me. It was a terrific visit.

(may be the only signature of my grandmother that was ever captured)
Got a copy of the marriage record from St. Ann's Church Bristol, CT for Carolum Matyoka of Bristol son of Jilium Francisci Matyoka & Annae (blank) and Mariam Eistellam Lozier of Bristol, CT daughter of Henrice Lozier & Modestae Levesque married on Oct. 3, 1942; sponsers were Metro Yacawyeh & Irenea Perfetto (her sister Irene).
