    • In the book, Robert Levesque and his era 1642-1699, by Ulrich Levesque, on page 12 & 14, it states that Robert was born on Sept. 3, 1642 at Hautot-Saint- Sulpice to Pierre Levesque & Marie Caumont who were married on Oct. 27, 1641 at Hautot-Saint-Sulpice; his godparents were Robert Levesque & Anne Gontier (his grandparents? or his Uncle/Aunt?).

    • In the same book, page 19, it states that Robert, 28 yrs. old, came to North America in June 1671 on the ship 'Saint Jean Baptiste' as one of 2 carpenters listed; the sieur of la Bouteillerie (Jean Baptiste Francois Deschamps de la Bouteillerie) was also on this same ship.
      On page 26, there is a signature of Robert Levesque on a land grant of Nov. 10, 1674 when he received land from Jean Baptiste Francoise Deschamps de la Bouteillerie, Lord of Riviere-Ouelle. The book states that the 'C' under Robert's signature may signify 'Carpenter'.
      From Jul 6 1675 - May 1676 he worked on building the Petit Seminaire de Quebec; then returned on Jul 6 - Oct 1676 to work at triple the salary, then finished up from May 28-Sept. 14, 1677; benediction of the new building was on Dec. 7, 1677; the building was destroyed by fire on Nov. 15, 1701. He is listed in the ledger as Robert Levesque, hired ..frame.. of building. (In the book, Robert Levesque and his era 1642-1699, by Ulrich Levesque, on page 28-29)

      Per marriage contract signed the night before at the home of Rene Letartre in L'Ange-Gardien, both parents of both Robert & Jeanne were deceased; Jeanne was the widow of Guillaume le Canteur, she declared having meager belongings along with many debts; her youngest child was 9-1/2 mo. old; witnesses were Rene Letartre, his wife Marie Mahue, her father Pierre Mahue, Mathurine Huot (Marie Letartre's husband), Joseph Guyon dit DeBuison, Pierre Lepirie, & Jacquest Mariette. The morning of the wedding, Jeanne officially renounced the property of Guillaume le Canteur.
